Strawberry Yogurt Popsicles Wednesday, May 8 2013

I have made our own popsicles for the past 2yrs or so. I love making my own as I know exactly what is in it, and its not loaded with food colouring and sugar. πŸ™‚ Β There are many cute popsicle moulds out there too, such as the one my son is holding in a start shape. The main one I’ve been making is Smoothie Popsicles, but we also really like the Coffee Popsicles! While I searched my blog for the links to those two popsicles, I came across one I totally forgot about, Peanut Butter Popsicles!

This week, I tried a new one: Strawberry Yogurt Popsicles. It is DELICIOUS! It’ll definitely become a regular part of our popsicle selection this summer. πŸ™‚

Strawberry Yogurt Popsicles

1 cup strawberries, mashed
1 cup plain yogurt
Honey, to taste (or other sweetener of choice)

I put my strawberries through the blender, leaving some small chunks for texture. I quickly blended in the yogurt, and sweetened to taste with a bit of honey. Freeze in popsicle moulds, or in small cups with a spoon or popsicle sticks in it. Enjoy! πŸ™‚

Secret Recipe Club: Peanut Butter Popsicles Monday, Jun 25 2012

It’s Secret Recipe Club time again! This time I was assigned Laura from A Healthy Jalapeno! I had a lot of fun browsing through her recipes, deciding which one to make! Since this post is getting published while we are away on a trip, preparing to go to Malawi (Africa) as missionaries, I had to pick something a little bit quicker to make. The recipe I picked is certainly quick and perfect as a summer treat!

We really liked these easy, healthy, and perfectly refreshing Peanut Butter Frozen Yogurt Pops! I adapted the recipe just slightly to what I had, and they were very delicious. πŸ™‚ Β I love another yummy homemade popsicle recipe to add to our collection! The other two popsicles we make a lot are Smoothie Popsicles and Coffee Popsicles. And while I’m at it, I want to highlight a fruit popsicle recipe my friend Wendy recently posted on her blog: Frozen Fruit Pops!

Can you tell how much he liked them?! πŸ˜‰

Peanut Butter Yogurt Popsicles

2 cups plain yogurt
1 cup milk
1 1/4 cups smooth peanut butter (I used what I had: crunchy natural peanut butter)
1/2 cup honey

Add all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth. Fill in popsicle molds, or little cups with a popsicle stick in the middle. Freeze until solid. They come out of the cups easily by running them under hot water for a few seconds. Enjoy! Have a good summer! πŸ™‚

Smoothie Popsicles! Wednesday, May 30 2012

Last summer, I decided that I no longer wanted to feed my son store-bought popsicles. He loves them, eats so many of them, which is a lot of sugar and food colouring!!! So I started making my own. The main one we did, because we all loved it, were Coffee Popsicles! Even my then-3-yr old loved them.

This spring, I decided to try something else. I decided to try making popsicles from our smoothie recipe. It works GREAT, the boys LOVE it, and best of all? No sugar added! Just natural fruit sugars. Wow, how awesome is that! Now they can eat as many as they want without me feeling bad at how much sugar they eat. πŸ™‚

How do you make them? Mix us a batch of smoothies (I make Green Smoothies – with spinach!), pour into popsicle moulds, and freeze! If you don’t have popsicle moulds, you could try freezing these in washed single-serving yogurt containers, or even small cups. πŸ™‚

Super Yummy Coffee Popsicles Thursday, Jul 7 2011

Ooooooh yeah! These popsicles are delicious and a great way to cool off this summer! Even my 3-yr old likes them. πŸ™‚ Β They taste like something you’d get at Tim Horton’s!

Coffee Popsicles

1/2 cup coffee (I use leftover from the morning pot)
1/2 cup milk
2 Tbsp sugar

Melt sugar in the coffee, add milk. Pour into popsicle moulds, freeze and enjoy!

This recipe makes 4 popsicles in my moulds, so adjust the amounts as necessary for the size of your moulds! I freeze them in the morning and enjoy them in the afternoon. πŸ™‚

Of course, the amount of milk and sugar can also be tweaked to your own taste buds!
